Welcome to The Friends of Marshlands

Marshlands Conservancy is a native wildlife conservancy of a 147 acres, including one-and-a-half miles of shoreline, in Rye, NY. Nestled above Milton Harbor, it is a watershed area and an inlet of Long Island Sound. It has five distinct habitats that are designated as critical habitats and bioreserves for the preservation of species. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the protection, preservation, and enhancement of the conservancy and fostering a deeper understanding of nature and our role in it. We advocate for a management process that preserves the wildlife habitat, historic character, air and water quality, and restorative nature of the land.
