Welcome to The Friends of Marshlands

Marshlands Conservancy is a native wildlife conservancy of a 147 acres, including one-and-a-half miles of shoreline, in Rye, NY. Nestled above Milton Harbor, it is a watershed area and an inlet of Long Island Sound. It has five distinct habitats that are designated as critical habitats and bioreserves for the preservation of species. It is owned and operated by the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. See https://parks.westchestergov.com

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the protection, preservation, and enhancement of the conservancy and fostering a deeper understanding of nature and our role in it. We advocate for a management process that preserves the wildlife habitat, historic character, air and water quality, and restorative nature of the land.
